Steamed Cherry Dumplings

- 1 can cherry pie filling shopping list
- 1/4 cup water shopping list
- 2 Tbsp butter shopping list
- 1 cup all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 Tbsp butter shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1/2 cup milk shopping list
How to make it
- Mix cherry pie filling, water and 2 Tbsp butter in a large pan (at least 3 1/2 quart).
- Boil for 5 minutes.
- Now make dumplings. Mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar.
- Cut in 2 Tbsp butter.
- Add the vanilla to the milk, then mix with the flour mixture until dry ingredients are all moist.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto hot cherry sauce in saucepan.
- Boil uncovered for 5 minutes, then cover, reduce heat and steam gently for 30 to 35 minutes.
- Serve warm, spooning the sauce over the dumplings.
