Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix the condensed milk with the sugar
  • Add extracts and salt and mix well.
  • Press this mixture evenly into a 13x9 pan covered in Release aluminum foil with extra foil on sides for easy removal.
  • Place in the freezer for one hour.
  • Remove the pan from the freezer and remove the candy from the pan using the foil.
  • Cut into small 2 inch squares
  • Using buttered hands, roll the candy into small log-shaped pieces, rounding off the edges slightly.
  • Dip only the bottom of one pecan half lightly into the honey and press on top of each coconut log or piece. (Honey is the glue!)
  • Place all of the candy on wax paper or a silicon mat (or use the foil!)
  • Melt the dark chocolate in a glass bowl or large glass measuring cup.
  • Using 2 forks, quickly dip each candy and pecan into the chocolate and allow excess to drip off.
  • Place dipped candy back on foil or waxed paper to dry and set.
  • *You can use milk or bittersweet chocolate, too. The picture above shows the candy made in milk chocolate (Stahmann's Cococans!).

This would be perfect for my homemade Christmas gifts! Hmmm, wonder how it would be with a little caramel between the coconut and the pecan...kind of like a Girl Scout cookie Samoa? Thank I'll try both! Thanks!
