How to make it

  • In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, orange juice, orange peel and berries until blended.
  • Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened and bubbly.
  • Pour into a greased 8 inch square baking dish.
  • In a bowl, combine the oats, cornflakes, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt, stir in butter.
  • Sprinkle over berry mixture.
  • Bake 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until very bubbly.
  • cool for 10 minutes before serving. Berries can be blistering hot.

    I've never tried the addition of the corn flakes for the topping on a crisp - sounds perfect. Another must try when the berries are in season here...thanks again, marges!

    This sounds delicious! The mixture of cornflakes, brown sugar, butter, etc. is wonderful. I have a recipe with that combination, and it's delicious. :)
