Ingredients
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1/4 cup of cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp of orange juice
  • 1 tsp of grated orange peel
  • 2 cups of fresh raspberries
  • 2 cups of fresh blueberries
  • 1 cup of old fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup of cornflakes
  • 1/2 cup of packed dark brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 cup of butter, melted

Directions
  1. In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, cornstarch, orange juice, orange peel and berries until blended.
  2. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened and bubbly.
  3. Pour into a greased 8 inch square baking dish.
  4. In a bowl, combine the oats, cornflakes, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt, stir in butter.
  5. Sprinkle over berry mixture.
  6. Bake 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until very bubbly.
  7. cool for 10 minutes before serving. Berries can be blistering hot.

This sounds delicious! The mixture of cornflakes, brown sugar, butter, etc. is wonderful. I have a recipe with that combination, and it's delicious. :)

I've never tried the addition of the corn flakes for the topping on a crisp - sounds perfect. Another must try when the berries are in season here...thanks again, marges!
