Ingredients
  • 1-16 oz package frozen peas
  • 4 Tablespoons butter (or more if you like)
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup half & half
  • heaping teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions
  1. Cook peas in boiling water for ten minutes; pour into colander and drain. ( I reserve some of the liquid to add if my cream sauce is too thick from not measuring my flour)
  2. Using same sauce pan melt butter over medium heat and stir in flour. Gradually add half & half, stirring constantly until thick and creamy.
  3. Stir in sugar, salt and peas. Taste.
  4. Add more salt or sugar if you like

This is the ONLY way my Grandson will eat peas... He says no white stuff on them ... I no eat! They are wonderful!

Thank you for this recipe. Super fast and easy!

I will make this for the Holidays!

Excellent recipe, quick and easy, was the perfect side dish for meatloaf. Thanks!!

I think this might be the recipe that my mom used to make when I was a little girl. She's gone now and no one in the family has the recipe.

I'll be making them for dinner and will let you know how they turn out and if they are in fact the ones I remember. I'm sure they're great!

I love creamed peas with diced ham over biscuits. You just gave me an idea for dinner next week. YUM. My mom made these all the time too, just to entice us to eat our peas.
