How to make it

  • Make slits in pork chops to form a pocket in fat end.
  • Combine saltines, sugar, pepper, salt, garlic powder, 5 tablespoons of the melted butter, onions, and parsley; mix well.
  • Stuff chops generously and skewer shut with toothpicks.
  • Heat the remaining 2 tablespoons of melted butter in a skillet.
  • Brown chops slowly over medium heat for 5 minutes on each side.
  • Add chicken broth and simmer over low heat for 30 minutes until tender, turning chops at least once.

I'm getting ready to try this recipe this evening, but I don't have any saltines, so I am going to make some garlic toast under the broiler and pull it apart and add some bread crubs for the saltines.....hope it turns out good. Thanks for the post, I will let you know how my substitution works out!!!!!

Looks good -- must give this a try. You commented on my page to use applesauce to reduce the butter. Never thought of that -- what a cool idea. Thanks!
