The Sprout Garden

- Large, clean glass canning or mayonnaise jar shopping list
- Untreated broccoli, radish, cauliflower, or alfalfa seeds (available at health food stores) OR try lentils, mung or azuki beans shopping list
- Small piece of cheesecloth shopping list
- A rubber band shopping list
- Cold water shopping list
How to make it
- Put 2-3 tablespoons seeds or beans in clean jar
- Cut a piece of cheesecloth to fit over the jar opening & secure it with a rubber band
- Cover seeds with cold water & let them sit overnight
- Next day, drain and rinse them and lay jar on its side and rinse sprouts twice each day
- The will grow in any light, but full sun can dry and overheat them
- Temperature should be between 55 and 75 degrees
- When they are looking "sprouty", put them in the fridge but continue to rinse daily for freshness
- Use sprouts in salads and omelets, on sandwiches, or as a garnish
- EASY TO GROW AND VERY HEALTHY!!
