How to make it

  • In a small saucepan, melt the butter with the unswetened chocolate, stirring constantly over low heat
  • Add the sugar and stir until dissolved
  • Add the half and half or milk and the salt and stir until smooth
  • Bring slowly JUST TO A BOIL but don't stir
  • Remove from heat and blend in the vanilla extract
  • Serve warm over scoops of French Vanilla or Vanilla Bean ice cream
  • Makes 1 1/2 cups of sauce
