Deep Fried Asparagus or Okra

- 1 pound fresh asparagus shopping list
- 1 cup flour shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 1 large egg shopping list
- 1 Tbs hot sauce ( or as desired ) shopping list
- 1 1/2 cup self rsing cornmeal mix shopping list
- 2 Tbs cajun seasoning shopping list
- vegetable oil to fry shopping list
- mustard Sauce shopping list
- 2/3 cup sour cream shopping list
- 3 Tbs creole mustard ( or use coarse grain ) shopping list
- 1 1/2 tsp dry ranch dressing mix shopping list
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice shopping list
- 1/4 tsp onion pwder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt or to taste shopping list
- pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Snap off tough ends of asparagus and rinse .
- Do not dry off.
- Place flour in dish and drege asparagus in flour
- Whisk together buttermilk, egg and hot sauce.
- In another dish combine cornmeal and Cajun seasoning .
- Dip asparagus in buttermilk mixture and then into cornmeal mixture.
- Fry in 2 inches of hot oil at 360 F 4 to 5 minutes or golden.
- Drain on Toweling paper.
- Serve with mustard sauce.
- Combine all mustard sauce ingredients.
