How to make it

  • Snap off tough ends of asparagus and rinse .
  • Do not dry off.
  • Place flour in dish and drege asparagus in flour
  • Whisk together buttermilk, egg and hot sauce.
  • In another dish combine cornmeal and Cajun seasoning .
  • Dip asparagus in buttermilk mixture and then into cornmeal mixture.
  • Fry in 2 inches of hot oil at 360 F 4 to 5 minutes or golden.
  • Drain on Toweling paper.
  • Serve with mustard sauce.
  • Combine all mustard sauce ingredients.

    I love okra fried...I've never thought of frying asparagus. Maybe because I'm not a big asparagus fan. Thanks for sharing! Jett
