Have made this many times, and always asked to make it again. So quick too. I found it written on a tiny piece of paper so I think it must be from cooking show or morning show, I dunno.....but is important to cut up the gorgonzola or it is not ver... More

Ingredients
  • 2 T spoons butter
  • 2 T spoons flour
  • 1/2 cup white wine
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream or half & half
  • 2 T fresh chopped sage leaves
  • 3/4 pounds gorgonzola cheese cut up
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • couple hand fulls of seedless red grapes halved or quartered
  • 3/4 of normal size bag penne

Directions
  1. Prepare a penne pasta of your choice
  2. In a saucepan melt butter
  3. add flour and whisk, cook 1 minute
  4. Whisk in wine and reduce 15 to 20 seconds
  5. Whisk in chicken stock, then cream
  6. add sage and cheese
  7. stir until cheese melts, simmer over low heat until ready to searve
  8. salt and pepper to taste
  9. mix sauce with pasta, plate and top with grapes

If you don't cut up the gorgonzola the green part stays in not so eye friendly tubular form
