Hook Em Cabbage Goulash Recipe
Tried this for the first time last night, and it was surprisingly lip-smacking good. Slightly modified from the original, found in Country magazine a long time ago.

Ingredients
  • 1lb bulk pork sausage
  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 28oz can diced tomatoes with liquid
  • 6oz tomato paste
  • 2 Tablespoons vinegar
  • 1-2 Tablespoons chili powder
  • 1-2 tsp garlic powder
  • Dash cayenne pepper
  • 9 cups shredded cabbage
  • 8oz tomato sauce, or to taste

Directions
  1. Brown meats, adding onion after 5 minutes; drain grease.
  2. In stewpot, mix all ingredients except cabbage.
  3. Add cabbage and simmer on very low, 20-30 minutes, till cabbage is tender.
  4. Add 1/2 cup tomato sauce after 10 minutes or less.
  5. Stir frequently, and keep an eye on liquid level. Add more tomato sauce if needed or to taste.

Delicious! You could also add some cooked rice to the pot and have sort of a cabbage roll casserole! Great recipe...thanks
