Babas Strawberry Freezer Jam

- 2 pints strawberries - should equal 2 cups when mashed shopping list
- 4 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 box Sure Jell shopping list
- 3/4 cup water shopping list
- 5 Ball Plastic Freezer Jars (I ♥ these) shopping list
How to make it
- ~Wash and rinse jars
- ~Clean strawberries
- ~Mash strawberries in a large bowl with potato masher leaving chunks (mmm... chunks) You can also do this in a food processor - but make sure not to over process - must have those glorious chunks!!!
- ~Pour sugar over strawberries and mix well - cover and let sit for at least 10 minutes, stirring occasionally
- ~In a sauce pan combine the water and Sure Jell over high heat - whisk constantly until mixture comes to a boil - keep whisking and let mixture boil for 1 minute then remove from heat
- ~Pour Sure Jell mixture over strawberry mixture and stir for 3 minutes - sugar should be dern near completely gone
- ~Ladle this strawberry goodness into your containers leaving a 1/2-in from the top - clean up any spills or drips with a clean cloth - fasten on lids
- ~Let jars of jam set at room temp for 24 hours before storing
- Storage:
- Freezer - will last for 1 year - thaw in fridge before using
- Fridge - will last up to three weeks

Good timing when strawberries are in season....in the grocery store. SOON locally! I want to make this with my grandson - he LOVES strawberry jelly! Welcome back, too. Hope your trip home was a good one...you sure brought back a good recipe.
