How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine all ingredients.
  • Stir together until all ingredients are moistened.
  • Pour batter into greased or paper-lined muffin pans, filling cups 3/4 full.
  • Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until center is firm to the touch.
  • Yield: 12 muffins

    Ok made 2 batches yesterday...put 1/4 cup of cocoa powder in the second one..everybody is eating them up! I especially like them warmed up with butter. :)

    I used the cocoa wheats and they came out perfect!!!! Some butter and honey and they were gone!!!! Made a second batch using my mini muffin tin and the kids loved that!!(decreased the time by 2 min)

    I think I've got a box of this in the cabinet, too. I love it but can't get anyone else to eat it....they will prolly eat these though. :)

    Thanks for checking out the Magic Muffins recipe. I don't know what cocoa wheats is/are (?) but if it's a hot cream of wheat type breakfast cereal, I don't see why not. The first time I made these several years ago was because I'm not crazy for the hot cereal myself, but had almost a whole box in the cabinet and saw the recipe on the side of the box. I liked the muffins much better. My husband loves the cereal so now I've got it on hand again. Give what you have a try. The cocoa part sounds really good for the muffins.

    Oh my gosh Lisa!!! I grew up on Malt-O-Meal!! My dad made it for us kids every Wednesday before school!!! God love him......Keeping us healthy even back then! Muffins are a great way to start the morning!! Thanks for the great post!! Take care............ :-)
