Milky Way Cake

This is so different, tasty and makes a nice presentation. From Rural Arkansas Magazine..an old country treat.
Ingredients
- 2 tbls veg. shortening shopping list
- 3/4 c. fine chopped pecans shopping list
- 12 snack size Milky Way Bars shopping list
- 1 c. buttermilk, plain yogurt or sour cream shopping list
- 1 c. butter shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. supar shopping list
- 1/2 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 1 1/2 c. flour shopping list
- 1 tsp. salt shopping list
- 3/4 tsp baking soda shopping list
How to make it
- Generously grease a 12 c bundt pan with shortening
- coat pan with nuts
- in heavy saucepan over low heat melt milky way bars with 1/4 c. buttermilk
- stirring frequently until smooth
- Beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy
- blend in vanilla
- add eggs one at a time mixing well after each addition
- add combined flour salt and soda alternately with remaining 3/4 c. buttermilk
- mixing just until dry ingredients are moistened
- blend in Milky Way bar mixture
- spoon into prepared pan DO NOT POUR
- bake at 350 d. for 55 to 60 minutes
- Cool 10 minutes
- invert on wire rack to cool completely
