Ingredients

How to make it

  • Leave a 1/2" shell when hollowing out bread. Reserve removed bread & make crumbs.
  • Cook meats and onion in a skillet until well-browned; drain well. Add 1 cup reserved bread crumbs, cheese, egg, parsley, mustard, fennel, salt and pepper and mix well. Spoon meat mixture into bread shell. Replace ends and secure with toothpicks.
  • Mix together melted butter and garlic & nuke for 1 minute on high. Brush garlic butter over outside of loaf. Wrap securely in foil. Bake at 400 for 20 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. Remove foil and slice into thick pieces.
  • If you're doing this to take to a tailgate or other party (or just want to make these ahead of time) just bake and take in the foil. Can reheat nicely.
