Ingredients

How to make it

  • Mix together corn meal, oil and buttermilk.
  • Spray bottom of iron skillet with pam and add a little oil.
  • Pour the corn bread mixture in the skillet.
  • Place in 400 degree oven for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.

  • For large skillet double the recipe.

    Now that I see your picture, I REALLY have to go out and buy a cast iron skillet this weekend...REALLY!!! That bread is amazing looking - it is making me sooooo hungry for a slice of hot cornbread and some homemade strawberry jam! Thanks, blueeyes...

    Time for me to invest in a cast iron skillet - I've resisted because they are so heavy, but I'm caving in with all these good "iron skillet" recipes lately!
