How to make it

  • Heat oil in a large pot over medium-high heat. Add the onion and garlic; saute until the onion is soft (about 5 minutes).
  • Add ground beef to the onion and garlic. Saute until cooked, breaking up the meat with a spoon or fork.
  • Add all remaining ingredients. Reduce heat and simmer 10-15 minutes, until picadillo thickens. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  • Serve over hot rice.
