Ingredients

1 box yellow cake mix

Frosting:

1 egg well beaten

1 cup granulated sugar

1 can evaporated milk

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup butter

1/4 cup coconut

1 cup chopped nuts

1 cup candied cherries

Directions

Prepare cake as directed on package for a three layer cake.

To make filling put egg, sugar, evaporated milk, vanilla, salt and butter in a saucepan.

Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened about 10 minutes.

Do not boil then remove from heat and stir in coconut, nuts and cherries.

Let frosting cool then frost cake.
