Ingredients
  • • 3/4 cup buttermilk ranch dressing (I used half the family pack of ranch dressing powder, see pic of package) and 1/2 cup milk instead of real buttermilk.
  • • 1 egg, beaten
  • • 1 cut up fryer chicken
  • • 1/3 cup flour
  • • salt and pepper to taste
  • • 1 cup corn flakes, crushed (I needed 4 cups)
  • • 1/4 cup butter, melted

Directions
  1. 1. Combine egg, milk and ranch dressing, set aside
  2. 2. Combine flour, salt, and pepper
  3. 3. Dredge chicken in flour mixture
  4. 4. Dip in egg mixture
  5. 5. Roll in corn flakes
  6. 6. Put chicken pieces on baking sheet
  7. 7. Drizzle with butter
  8. 8. Bake @ 350 for 45 minutes
  9. I needed more than the one cup called out. I use a 6 mil zip lock bag to crush corn flakes or other items such as graham crackers. 6 mil bags are bullet proof for crushing or freezing items (very thick). I buy 12x12 and 12X15 from AssociatedBags.com on the internet. They are slightly costly but last a long time, you can use them over and over.
  10. http://www.associatedbag.com/ShowItems.asp?oid=34749078
  11. At the page scroll down to 12x12 6 mil. and click on the page. You can buy the minimum of 250 bags, just divide the 1000 bag price by 4 to get your cost. These bags can also be used to crush ice cubes.
  12. I didn't want to buy buttermilk (or make it) for just the recipe. The powdered mix worked really well. It gives a great bite to chicken, just made it fun to eat.

This looks awesome, I can't wait to try it! I know it will be a big hit because we're all ranch dressing fans! Thanks for sharing with all the easy to follow pics too!! ;D

This does sound good. I have used Ranch dressing in a chicken bake (just the other day) but never thought of using it like this. Bookmarked for sure!

Thanks for sharing this recipe! Looks awesome! I will stop by Wynne's page and tell her!

I'm so flattered that you would try my recipe, let alone take such wonderful pics and rate it a 5....I'm so pleased that you liked it...Thank you...:)

This was a great recipe so you should get a 5. This site only allows one to rate per the current standard. I think we should have three choices.
1. It sounds good (based on reading recipe).
2. It looks good. (based on at least one pic taken by a food of the recipe they have made)
3. It was good. (You made the recipe and now can rate it on its performance).

I only post recipes I have made. I have a few early recipes I posted that I still have to make just for the pic. I usually only rate a recipe if I make it, although if the recipe reads well I will make a positive comment until it has been made, then it is rated.

If there is a question I message the foodie, I never ask questions or make negative comments on a foodies recipe page. JJ

Awesome. Great pic's too. Thanks JJ.

Made this tonight as chicken fingers. We cut the chicken up and then vacuum sealed it in a container with the ranch dressing for about an hour and a half. Loved the texture that buttermilk brings to chicken but it didn't have the punch of Ranch flavor we were anticipating. We'll see how it tastes tomorrow but I think next time I will plan ahead and let it sit in the Ranch longer. We drizzled it with Ranch on the plate (what are chicken fingers without dipping sauce?) Really liked the crunch of the corn flakes! Didn't miss frying at all! UPDATE -Is just as good if not better on day 2 right out of the fridge!!

Great pic's! Hope you had somebody to share this with! Looks really good
