How to make it

  • Sift together dry ingredients and set aside.
  • In another bowl, beat sugar and oil till well blended and add eggs, one at a time
  • Alternating , beat in flour with buttermilk.
  • Blend in chocolate syrup and vanilla.
  • Pour batter into a greased and floured 10 inch bundt pan.
  • Bake in a preheated 325F oven about 90 minutes or cake tested done in center with toothpick.
  • Cool on rack 15 minutes.
  • Remove from pan and completely cool.
  • Drizzle with chocolate buttercream and just before serving drizzle with the chocolate syrup.
  • Buttercream:
  • Beat butter with 1/2 cup powdred sugar.
  • Beat in the syrup, and vanilla and then beat in 3/4 cup powdered sugar.
  • If too thick, thin with some milk umtil mixture drapes off spoon.
