Ingredients

How to make it

  • Melt chocolate and the butter in top of double boiler, stirring until blended
  • combined milk and sugar
  • add to chocolate mixture stirring well
  • add coconut and mix well
  • spread mixture on the bottom and sides of a greased 9 inch pie pan
  • chill until firm....DO NOT freeze
  • ............................................................................................................................
  • to serve with a Chiffon or Cream Pie Filling:
  • pour filling into a chilled crust and chill again until filling is firm.
  • remove from refrigerator and let stand 5 to 10 minutes before cutting
  • ............................................................................................................................
  • to serve with an Ice Cream Filling:
  • Let chilled crust stand at room temperature for 5 to 10 minutes then fill with ice cream and serve immediately
  • ............................................................................................................................
  • suggested ice cream: mint chocolate chip

    ooohh love the suggestion of mint chocolate chip - image it with ben and jerry's mint oreo - ooh so naughty.
    I recently made a coconut crust with egg whites and baked it in the oven - I like your version very much -as mine had issues (it was a foodnetwork recipe to boot!) Im sticking with yours the next time!
