Ingredients
  • 4 onions, peeled and chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1/2 cup salad oil
  • 3 tbsp. paprika
  • 3 lb. lean beef chuck, cut into cubes
  • 2 tomatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 4 potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 2 tsp. caraway seeds
  • 1 1/2 tsp. marjoram
  • 1 tsp. minced lemon peel;
  • 8 cups water
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

Directions
  1. Sate onions and garlic in a large soup kettle. Stir in paprika, cook 1 minute. Wipe dry beef cubes and brown. Add tomatoes, caraway, marjoram, lemon peel, water, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil. Lower heat and cook slowly, covered until meat is tender (45 to 60 minutes). Add potatoes and continue to cook about 20 minutes longer, until potatoes are tender.

Sounds like something I can throw into my crockpot and fill our home with some wonderful aromas. This sounds so good and I even have Hungarian Paprika on hand! It is cold a lot where I live, so I can almost make it all year round!
