How to make it

  • In large bowl combine flour, baking powder, soda, salt and poppy seeds. Set aside
  • In mixer bowl cream butter and sugar, beat in eggs, milk, orange juice and zest
  • Add liquid ingredients to dry, and combine until just moistened.
  • Spread into greased and floured 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pan
  • Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until wooden pick inserted in c enter comes out clean.
  • Cool 5 to 10 minutes then remove from pan
  • Continue to cool on wire rack.

    This is soo very delicious! Baked today with one tweak. I heated up the 1/2 cup cream and added the poppy seeds for about 45 mins. also, baked in a round 9 inch cake pan.

    Thank you . Have been looking for a low fat poppyseed cake/bread for quite a while. I give this 5 forks!
