Tomato Cheese And Bacon Salad Recipe

Tomato Cheese And Bacon Salad Recipe
An old friend of mine used to make a salad that was similar to this. He used imitation bacon bits, garlic powder, and American cheese. I hope you like the changes that I've made to it! I often make a meal of this in the summer.

Ingredients
  • 4 juicy, vine-ripe tomatoes, chopped, make sure and save all that nice juice!
  • 2-4 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 mild onion, chopped fine
  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • About 1 cup of your choice of cheese, diced or crumbled. I like a sharp cheddar, feta, or fresh mozzarella for this

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a bowl.
  2. Season with salt and pepper, if desired.

It's a BLT in a bowl! Sounds tasty. We use turkey bacon for the low-fat version.

I saved this for next summer. I sure miss my garden tomatoes. This will be great.- Lori

This would be good with cottage cheese for kids, we know they will eat that.... I will take mine with feta thank you!!!!
