The classic version of vanilla pudding. Quick and easy. If you wish, substitute 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract for the vanilla bean, adding it after the pastry cream is removed from heat.

Thanks a lot! I was searching for this recipe yesterday because my sister was telling me about a dessert called "Dessert Rose" from Carraba's Grill. Basically it's a butter cake with pastry cream, bananas, strawberrys and cool whip.
