Tomato Basil Soup

- 4 tomatoes, peeled, seeded, and diced shopping list
- 4 cups of tomato juice shopping list
- 14 fresh basil leaves shopping list
- 1 cup of heavy whipping cream shopping list
- 1/2 cups butter shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
- ground black pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- 1. combine tomatoes and juice in a stockpot and simmer for 30 minutes
- 2. puree the tomatoes and the juice with the basil leaves in a blender in batches
- 3. return the mixture to the stockpot, add the cream and the butter and heat through. add the salt and pepper to taste
- 4. serve hot
