Kitten Formula

- 2 cups whole cow's milk shopping list
- 2 large eggs shopping list
- 4 teaspoons protein powder shopping list
- 2 teaspoons nutritional yeast shopping list
- 1/3 teaspoon bonemeal or 1/8 teaspoon eggshell powder or 220 milligrams calcium shopping list
- 1-2 days' worth of balanced cat vitamins (adult dosage) shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all ingredients in a 1 quart bowl.
- Beat lightly until the eggs are well-distributed.
- Put into a saucepan and heat slowly to 98-degrees F. It should be warm, not hot.
- Give each kitten just enough to enlarge the belly slightly, without distending it, using a doll bottle or pet nurser.
- Feed according to the schedule below.
- Begin to introduce solids (high-quality canned food or home recipe for cats) at 3 to 4 weeks. Mix it with the formula to make a thin mush.
- Weaning can begin at 4 to 6 weeks.
- Feeding Schedule:
- Age Feeding Frequency
- 0 to 2 weeks every 2 hrs (total of 2-4 tbs per day)
- 3 weeks every 3 hrs (total of 4-6 tbs per day)
- 4 to 5 weeks every 4 hrs (total of 6-10 tbs per day)
- 6 weeks 3 times a day (total of 8-12 tbs per day)
