Roasted Root Beer Bbq Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

1 chicken cut into 8 pieces

vegetable oil

salt & pepper

1.2 C onion diced

1 Tbsp. garlic minced

2 cups root beer

3/4 C kethcup

1/2 c. appl cider cvinegar

1/4 C brown sugar

1/4 yellow mustard

2 Tbsp molasses

1 Tsbsp. Worcestershire sauce

juice of 1/2 lime

1 tsp red pepper flakes

Directions

Prehaet oven to 400

Caot chicken in oil, salt ,a nd pepper, and rost for 45 minutes

NOTE: roasting the chicken helps the chicken cook through fist before putting onto hot grill and charring the outsides., Result: tender, juicy yet flavorful chicken!)

While chicken is roasting prepare the sauce as follows:

Saute garliic, and onion in o,ive oil2-3 min in large saute pan.

Add root beer, and bring to a boil.

Reduce heat to low, and simmer until reduced to about 1/2 cup about 15 minutes. Add remaining ingredients except lime juice.

Simmer 5 minutes, take off heat, and add lime juice.

Dip chicken into sauce, and grill 5 min. Dip again,turn, and grill until charred and crisp, another 5 minutes
