this recipe is from one of my favorite cookbooks "Cuchina Rustica" by Viana La Place and Evan Kleiman, pub 1990. love it.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup black olives, pitted and finely chopped
  • 3 anchovy fillets
  • 2 tablespoons capers
  • 4 garlic cloves, peeled and minced
  • 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon red chile flakes
  • freshly ground black pepper and salt
  • 1 pound impotred spaghetti or linguine

Directions
  1. finely chop together teh anchovies,capers and garlic
  2. heat olive oil in skillet
  3. add olives and anchovy mixture and saute over medium heat adding the chile flakes and salt and pepper to taste, about 5-6 minutes.
  4. cook pasta in boiling salted water until al dente
  5. drain and add pasta to sauce in skillet along with 1-2 tablespoons pasta water
  6. heat briefly over medium heat stirring well.. serve immediately

I posted a similar "Olivada" recipe. Very tasty... High 5 from me... Jim You can also toss the first 7 ingredients in a blender, pulse to a chunky paste and serve on brushetta..
