Ingredients

How to make it

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar until well blended; cool.
  • Stir in egg.
  • Measure flour and then stir baking powder, salt, and flour together; blend in.
  • Mix in vanilla and walnuts.
  • Spread in a well-greased square pan.
  • Bake 25 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE!
  • Cut into bars while warm.

    Great recipe! Thanks for posting. Good old Betty Crocker is a great source for good recipes! I have many cookbooks, but my old Betty Crocker I got when I was in high school is my go-to cookbook. It has stains and stuck-together pages and the first few pages missing, but you can count on the recipes to be good.
