Fried Squirrel Recipe

I know every1 think this gross but I grew up in the country and it was a main dish for me as a child and I still love it!

Ingredients
- 4 young squirrels
- lemon juice
- salt and pepper
- flour
Directions
- Cut the squirrels in serveing pieces
- sprinkle with lemon juice and place in a bowl
- Refrigerate overnight
- wipe off with damp cloth and rub with salt and pepper
- Dredge with flour and fry in small amount of oil in a skillet for about 40 mins or until golden brown
- Serves 6
- Great served with creamed potatoes, biscuits, and homemade milk gravy.

My husband used to squirrel hunt years ago, and they were delicious. He did all the preparation and just gave me the cut-up squirrels to cook. ?They are really good fried.

My brother and his best friend went camping and discovered that they had bought a can of tamales and not chili, like they thought. My bro had shot a squirrel earlier in the day, keeping it mainly as a joke to his friend that they might have to eat it later. They tried the tamales and hated them. They had the squirrel after all - and they liked it. I just thought it was because he's crazy. Maybe it was delicious after all. Thanks for sharing! - Natalie
