Georgia Pecan Pie

- 1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup light KARO corn syrup shopping list
- 1 Tablespoon butter shopping list
- 3 whole eggs shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt, if desired shopping list
- 1 cup pecan halves shopping list
How to make it
- Combine the sugar, corn syrup and butter in a heavy saucepan and heat just enough for the butter to melt and the sugar to dissolve.
- Cool.
- Beat in eggs, add vanilla and salt if desired.
- Spread pecans over bottom of unbaked pie shell.
- Pour filling over them.
- Bake at 375 degrees for about 10 minutes, then turn temperature down to 325 degrees and baking for another 35 - 40 minutes -
- Watch closely, you might need to cover the outside edges with aluminum foil if they're browning too quickly.
