Strawberry Cake

Grandma Weed's recipe. She said to top it with a carmel frosting, but I haven't found that one yet. Guess I have some inventing to do.

Cream together egg, sugar and butter
In another bowl, combine strawberries and soda. Add to the egg mixture. Mix well.
Add four. Mix well. Bake in greased pan for 40 min at 350 degrees

Auntybea's Carmel frosting:

1 cup brown sugar
3 tbsp. cream
3 tbsp. butter
Melt first 3 ingredients and bring to a boil. Sift 1 cup icing sugar. Whisk icing sugar into melted mixture. Add some vanilla.

I have my Grandma's caramel icing recipe posted:

1 cup brown sugar
3 tbsp. cream
3 tbsp. butter

Melt first 3 ingredients and bring to a boil. Sift 1 cup icing sugar. Whisk icing sugar into melted mixture. Add some vanilla.

It's probably been around for as many generations as your cake recipe!
