Italian Sandwich On The Grill Recipe

Ingredients

1 loaf Italian bread, sliced horizontally and hollowed out

1/4 lb. each of sliced ham, provolone, salami, mortadella, and fresh mozzarella

Sliced roasted red peppers

1/2 cup sliced black olives

Onions, thinly sliced

Dressing

1/3 cup olive oil

Juice of 1 lemon

1 tsp. oregano

1 tsp. garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Directions

Heat grill to medium high

Mix dressing ingredients

Brush both halves of bread with dressing

Layer bottom half with ham, provolone, red peppers, salami, mortadella, olives, and mozzarella, in that order

Put top half of bread on

Wrap bread tightly in aluminum foil

Put on grill and cook 15-20 minutes, turning flipping halfway through

For a crustier sandwich, open foil to expose the top of bread during last 5 minutes of grilling

Let sit a few minutes before slicing
