This is a Taste of Home Recipe...Good with the backyard BBQ's this summer...or to take to any potluck... Serves 15 to 20 people...A good southern dish.

Ingredients
  • 8 bacon strips, diced
  • 2 medium onions, havled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon slat
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 can baked beans, undrained (28 ounces)
  • 1 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained (16 ounces)
  • 1 can pinto beans, rinsed and drained (15 1/2 oz)
  • 1 can lima beans, rinsed and drained (15 1/2 oz)
  • 1 can black-eyed peas, rinsed and drained (15 1/2 oz)

Directions
  1. In a large skillet, cook bacon until crisp.
  2. Remove to paper towels; drain and reserve 2 tablespoons drippings.
  3. In the drippings, saute onions until tender.
  4. Add brown sugar, vinegar, salt, mustard and garlic powder.
  5. Bring to a boil.
  6. In a slow cooker, combine beans and peas.
  7. Add onion mixture and bacon; mix well.
  8. Cover and cook on high for 3 to 4 hours or until heated through.
