Caramel Squares

- BASE : shopping list
- 3/4 C flour shopping list
- 3/4 tbsp caster sugar shopping list
- 50 g butter shopping list
- 2 tsp water shopping list
- 1 small egg shopping list
- FILLING : shopping list
- 200 g condensed milk shopping list
- 10 g butter shopping list
- 1 tbsp golden syrup or honey shopping list
- TOPPING : shopping list
- 60 g dark baking chocolate shopping list
- 20 g butter shopping list
How to make it
- Pre heat oven 210 deg
- Grease a pan
- For the base , with the hand or processor mix all the ing until it resembles breadcrumbs
- Add the egg and the water .
- Roll lightly on floured surface and cover with a wrap and chill until set .
- Now press in the lined tin until all base covered .
- Line it with baking paper , spread with some pulses and bake for 10 mins .
- Remove the paper and the pulses and bake 10 more mins until lightly golden .
- Reduce the oven to 180 deg .
- Caramalise all the ing. over low heat until it melats , boils and thickens .
- Spread over the base and bake for 10 mins .
- Cool it .
- For the topping , Double boil the chocolate and butter until melted .
- Cool abit and spread over the filling .
- Cool until set and cut into squares .
