Sauteed Shrimp With Cheese Grits Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1-1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 1-1/2 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup quick grits
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup diced bacon
  • 1 pound medium shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced strips green bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup thinly sliced strips red bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup slivered onion

Directions
  1. Sliced green onions and shredded cheddar cheese for garnish
  2. Tabasco sauce
  3. To prepare grits bring chicken broth and milk to a boil in large saucepan.
  4. Stir in grits and salt then return to boil.
  5. Cover and reduce heat to low and cook 5 minutes until thickened stirring occasionally.
  6. Stir in cheddar cheese and keep warm.
  7. Cook bacon in skillet until crisp then remove from skillet and drain then set aside.
  8. Drain all but 2 tablespoons drippings from skillet.
  9. Add shrimp, peppers and onion then cook 5 minutes.
  10. Season with Tabasco sauce then stir in bacon.
  11. Serve shrimp mixture over warm cheese grits.
  12. Garnish with chopped green onions and shredded cheese.
