Sauteed Shrimp With Cheese Grits

- 1-1/4 cup chicken broth shopping list
- 1-1/2 cup milk shopping list
- 3/4 cup quick grits shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese shopping list
- 1 cup diced bacon shopping list
- 1 pound medium shrimp peeled and deveined shopping list
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced strips green bell pepper shopping list
- 1/2 cup thinly sliced strips red bell pepper shopping list
- 1/2 cup slivered onion shopping list
How to make it
- Sliced green onions and shredded cheddar cheese for garnish
- Tabasco sauce
- To prepare grits bring chicken broth and milk to a boil in large saucepan.
- Stir in grits and salt then return to boil.
- Cover and reduce heat to low and cook 5 minutes until thickened stirring occasionally.
- Stir in cheddar cheese and keep warm.
- Cook bacon in skillet until crisp then remove from skillet and drain then set aside.
- Drain all but 2 tablespoons drippings from skillet.
- Add shrimp, peppers and onion then cook 5 minutes.
- Season with Tabasco sauce then stir in bacon.
- Serve shrimp mixture over warm cheese grits.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and shredded cheese.
