How to make it

  • Cut them in half and place on cookie sheet with cut side up.
  • Lightly sprinkle tomatoes with kosher or table salt.
  • Place in 250-degree oven keep oven door propped open with wooden spoon.
  • Cook 6-10 hours or until tomatoes are leathery but not dry.
  • Store in a zippered bag.
  • Place in freezer.
  • Take them out when you need them for recipes.

    Awesome. Had lots of home grown Roma tomatoes that were not too tasty. Oven dried using this recipe and they were awesome. So simple yet amazing results

    Sound great. I'll plant some Romas next year. I have Jet Star this year-to juicy and the taste is different.

    When I buy sundried .. in the bag. They are so hard.. Do these get this way? Can I store them in olive oil? Have to try this when my tomatoes get ripe this fall... Thanks!
