I had this sauce at my favorite Italian restaurant, but couldn't wheedle the recipe from them, only some of the ingredients. It is perfect paired with grilled pork chops or chicken. - 1 tart apple, quarted
- 1 tbl sugar (optional, the figs are sweet)

Ingredients

2 C ruby or Tawny port wine shopping list
2 Cups Mission figs, if available or use what you have shopping list
1 tart apple, quarted shopping list
1 tbl sugar (optional, the figs are sweet) shopping list

How to make it

Place all ingredients in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until reduced by half or less
Strain and spoon over grilled chops or chicken

Oh, sorry, I don't like figs! Mum used to give us syrup of figs to help us 'go' lol It put me right off them!
