How to make it

  • Heat sugar and water to dissolve sugar.
  • Add 1 cup cherries, bring to a boil.
  • Cook a few minutes to soften cherries.
  • Set aside to cool.
  • Strain cooled syrup intop pitcher, pressing out juices
  • Add lemon juice, cold water, remaining cherries.
  • Pour over ice and garnish with mint.
  • Yield 2 quarts
