Italian cookies from Calabria

An old recipe brought over from Italy
Ingredients
- 4 cups flour shopping list
- 4 tsp baking powder shopping list
- 1 cup Crisco shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup whole milk shopping list
- 3 egg yolks shopping list
- one of either chopped nuts or coconut shopping list
How to make it
- preheat oven to 375 degree's
- sift dry ingredients together, cut crisco into flour mixture (should be crumbly)
- make a well in the flour mix and add eggs, vanilla, and milk
- mix by hand (will be sticky)
- put flour on hands and role into balls or figure 8's
- bake 10-12 minutes and then frost with a simple white icing, while icing is still wet dip the cookie into the nuts or coconut.

Great recipe I will have to try using some coconut in a batch of my Christmas cookies. Love the figure eight shapes too.
