Balinese Beef Satay with Sweet Soy Sauce

Lovely Indonesian yumminess. I collected this recipe from an Indonesian college friend who I have lost touch with.
Ingredients
- for the marinade: shopping list
- 1/4 cup oil shopping list
- 1/4 cup lemon juice shopping list
- 1/4 cup soy sauce shopping list
- 2 garlic cloves shopping list
- 1 large onion, cut into chunks shopping list
- 2 hot red chili peppers, sliced shopping list
- 3 tablespoons fresh coriander, chopped shopping list
- 1/4 cup roasted peanuts shopping list
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil shopping list
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper shopping list
- skewers shopping list
- 3 lbs good beef steak, cut into 1-inch cubes shopping list
- bamboo skewers (soaked for at least 20 minutes) shopping list
- Sauce shopping list
- 2/3 cup soy sauce shopping list
- 1 tablespoon molasses shopping list
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Combine all marinade ingredients and puree in blender or food processor.
- Marinate beef in this mixture for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat grill
- Skewer beef and broil on grill, turning frequently for 5-7 minutes or bake on a foil lined baking sheet in preheated 325°F oven.
- Mix together sauce ingredients, and serve skewers with dipping sauce and rice.
