- 4 slices bacon shopping list
- 1 each onion; thinly sliced shopping list
- 1 lb sauerkraut shopping list
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds shopping list
- 1 cup white wine; or stock or water shopping list
- 2 1/4 lb onion; chopped shopping list
- 3/4 lb beef, round steak; cubed shopping list
- 3/4 lb, each pork and veal; cubed shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic shopping list
- 3 each tomato; chopped shopping list
- 3 tablespoon paprika, hungarian shopping list
- 1 cup stock shopping list
How to make it
- There are 2 sections
- First section in the ingredient list: (Sauerkraut mixture) with ingredients
- from bacon to whiite wine;
- Second section of the ingredient list (GULYAS) which is from the white wine
- to the end.
- Make the gulyas: saute the chopped onions, add the meat, garlic, tomatoes,
- paprika, and 1/2 of the stock. Simmer 1 1/2 hrs. Add remaining stock during
- cooking and add water if needed.
- Saute the thinly sliced onions, add bacon, sauerkraut, caraway seeds and
- heat through. Combine with the gulyas and simmer for 10-15 more mins.
- Serve with mashed potatoes.
