Bechamel Sauce

- 5 Tbsp. unsalted butter shopping list
- 1/3 cup all purpose flour shopping list
- 3 1/2 cups milk (whole, soy or 2%) shopping list
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt shopping list
- 1/4 tsp white pepper shopping list
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg shopping list
How to make it
- Melt butter over medium-low heat.
- Whisk in flour to make a roux.
- Cook and stir 2 minutes.
- Gradually add milk into roux.
- Stir constantly to prevent sticking and cook until thick, about 10 minutes.
- When thick, add seasonings.
