Gorgeous Golden Coconut Candy Cocada Recipe

Ingredients

2 medium coconuts or shredded coconut

1 1/2 C sugar

1 C milk

Cinnamon sticks to taste

4 egg yolks

20 roasted almonds

Butter to grease baking dish

Directions

Peel and clean coconuts well.

Save coconut water in glass or plastic container to keep it fresh. Flake coconut meat with a grater.

Boil coconut flakes with coconut water, milk, sugar, and cinnamon sticks.

Bring to a boil until thick, or when stirring with a wooden spoon, you can see the bottom of the saucepan.

Remove from heat.

Fold in egg yolks and stir vigorously until a smooth batter forms. Pour into buttered baking dish and garnish with almonds.

Bake in preheated 350º F oven for about 10 minutes, or until golden brown.

Let cool, then cut into bars.
