This recipe is for individual shortcake biscuits for strawberry shortcake or any other berries. They are light and luscious and a great change from angel cake (and much better than those little sponge cups in the supermarket!) I said it makes 8 bu... More

Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 4 tsp. baking powder
- 4 tbsp. chilled shortening
- 3/4 cup water or milk
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp. sugar
- 2 tbsp. oil
Directions
- Cut dry ingredients into shortening. Add liquid and form in to ball. Refrigerate for 30 minutes. Turn onto floured board and knead 10 times. Cut into biscuits. Bake at 425 F for 10 to 12 minutes.
