Ingredients
- Makes 5 cups
- --------------------
- 4-1/2 cups party mix
- OR 4-1/2 cups crispy multi-grain cereal
- 2 tablespoons Crisco® Butter Shortening
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup Creamy Peanut Butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup confectioners' sugar
- Any nuts that you prefer and as many as you like
Directions
- Measure party mix or cereal into a large mixing bowl.
- In a microwave safe bowl melt CRISCO shortening, chocolate chips and peanut butter on 50% power, checking at 1 minute intervals.
- Remove mixture from microwave and stir in vanilla extract.
- Pour over cereal and mix until well coated. Place confectioners’ sugar in a resealable plastic bag; add coated cereal and toss to coat well.
- Spread double-coated cereal onto sheet of wax paper to cool. Pick up coated cereal with hands and store in an airtight container. Discard excess sugar.
- Refrigerate coated cereal.
