I absolutely love this recipe. I got this from a friend who served this at her bunko party and we all went gaga over it. Has been a mainstay in my home for a long time now. Enjoy

Ingredients
  • 3/4 pound boneless chicken breast
  • 2 teaspoons dark soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons rice wine
  • 1 teaspoon ginger root minced
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/3 cup peanut oil
  • 2 dried red chilies halved lengthwise
  • 1 tablespoon orange peel coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon fine ground roasted peppercorns
  • 2 teaspoons dark soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

Directions
  1. Cut chicken into thin slices 2” long cutting across the grain.
  2. Put into a bowl together with soy sauce, rice wine, ginger, cornstarch and 1 teaspoon sesame oil.
  3. Mix well then allow mixture to marinate for 20 minutes.
  4. Heat oil in wok until it is very hot then remove chicken from marinade with a slotted spoon.
  5. Add to pan and stir fry 2 minutes then remove and leave to drain in a colander.
  6. Pour off most of the oil leaving about 2 teaspoons.
  7. Reheat pan over high heat then add chilies and stir fry 10 seconds then return chicken to pan.
  8. Add remaining ingredients and stir fry 4 minutes mixing well then serve immediately.

This is a great recipe and it's almost identical to the one I use. And it beats any orange chicken you'll buy out. Nice recipe!
