Swiss Mushroom Loaf

- 1 loaf round unsliced Italian bread shopping list
- 1 8 oz. block swiss cheese, cut in cubes shopping list
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms shopping list
- 1/4 cup butter shopping list
- 1 small onion finely chopped shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoon poppy seeds shopping list
- 2 garlic cloves minced shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon Lawry's Seasoned Salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice shopping list
How to make it
- Cut bread in 1 inch slices to within 1 inch of bottom of loaf. Do not cut through. Repeat slices in opposite dirction.
- Stuff cheese cubes and mushrooms in between slices.
- Place the rest of ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 2 minutes- or until butter is melted. Spoon butter mixture over loaf, getting it down into crevices.
- Wrap loaf in foil.
- Bake at 350 for 40 minutes or until cheese is melted.

This reminds me alot of my Parmesan Cheese Bread, my most loved bread recipe. You do it exactly the same way, but use parmesan and no mushrooms. This sounds like a nice alternative to that. Thanks.

Mmmmm...this sounds fabulous! We have a local eatery that makes something similar, but they use pepperoni and mozzerella...I love the pairing of the swiss and the mushrooms, very nice and a great post! High 5! ~Laura ;D
