Cheese Scalloped Carrots Recipe


CHEESE SCALLOPED CARROTS Recipe
These are so creamy and good. Good way to get kids to eat carrots.

Ingredients
  • 1 small onion minced small
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
  • 12 carrots cooked and drained
  • 1/2 pound cheese slices
  • 3 cups Buttered Cracker Crumbs

Directions
  1. Saute onion in butter for 2-3 minutes
  2. Stir in flour, salt and dry mustard
  3. Slowly add milk, stir until thick
  4. Add rest of seasonings stir.
  5. Arrange cheese, sauce and carrots in layers top with crumbs and bake at 325 for about 30 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Amazing how the old recipes are to fattening, but so good!
