At my last cookie exchange I won the award of "Best Cookie" with this recipe. This is a cake type cookie that is rich, but not overpowering.

I found this recipe yesterday and made them last night. For an easy, quick, substitute for frosting add white chocolate chips. They add a nice sweet bite to these soft delicious cookies.

We LOVED these cookies, but I tried making these cookies a little better for our family by cutting of the fat by putting 1/4 butter and 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce. I also used 1 cup of white flour and 1 1/2 cups of whole wheat flour to bump up the fiber! My husband and daughter thought choco chips would be good so added some to the tops of half the cookies. These will for sure be made again in our house!

i am usually intimidated by baking and not much for sweeets...but this is too good not to try...
one of my only baked goods is a pumpkin spice bread because i just love it so much...
pretty much the same ingredients-just in a loaf...
i can imagine how good the house will smell while these are cooking!...

The pumpkin and spice mixture has to be a winner. Definitely bookmarked as a "to do" for me.

I am also intimidated by baking, but the cookie exchanges force me into it. It is hard for me to bake, my husband loves chocolate and nuts, and I don't. This cookie was one that picked on the tastes and flavors that I love. They turn out really good, it is a very forgiving recipe.

I made these last night. My boyfriend is a HUGE pumpkin fan and I can't say I blame him. These were a instant hit. He has always been used to his mother famous pumpkin chocalate chip cookies. So when he eats a couple-he looks at me and says 'U shouldn't have done this to me, cuz now I have 2 favorite cookies' lol They were definetly delicious. He forced me to put plate away before he ate them all. Two Thumbs up!!

Very good. I didn't have cloves so I added a full tsp of nutmeg. They were delicious. I also didn't have butter so I had to substitute with shortening.

Great cookies! Perfect texture and really nice combination of spices make this a delicious cookie. I took these to my niece's baby shower today and everyone loved them. They went fast. I actually just e-mailed this recipe to a friend of my sister's who wanted to make these as well. I used King Arthur's flour. My daughter loved them too, so I am going to make some more this evening just for our family. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe.
